About Us
New World Bistro Bar is an 80 seat Gastro-Pub in the Heart of Albany's Delaware Neighborhood.
The building is cozy, the food is fresh and alive and the staff is friendly and nurturing. Scott, Annette, Ric and Liz have designed the next generation of neighborhood cafes, to feel more like a place in Park Slope than Midtown Manhattan. Come as you are.
Green Design
A green consciousness was used in the design of the building. Most all of the interior is recycled! The building was originally the Farrell Brothers Plumbing Building for most of the 20th Century. Many of the original aspects of the building such as exposed brick, black pipe and plaster have been incorporated into the Bistro's design. The Mahogany Bar was bought at auction and is originally from the 1939 NY World's Fair. The Mahogany Booths, tables , banquettes, carpets and chairs were salvaged from the late Malt River Brewing Company in Latham (Maybe you had a brew or two in one of our booths?!)
Another of our green aspects is that we use an on demand water heater, saving energy every day. Our kitchen was designed with some of the most energy efficient appliances, including a 4 burner induction warmer stove, a small box, 4 deck electric Pizza oven and an electric convection oven, saving over 40% in energy over typical gas units.
